Review-Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Hello Hello Guys!!

It's a review *yay* on the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I heard that this is actually a dupe to Bioderma but I have actually never tried cleansing waters besides from the Garnier one. So I'm not sure how it compares with Bioderma. Although having said that this cleansing water removes make up, cleanses, soothes and no rinsing needed!

So let's get into the review shall we? :)

The packaging is so sleek and cute! The little pink top and the clear bottle, as you can see it is VERY similar to the Bioderma packaging. This cleansing water says on the front it can remove face, eyes and lip makeup. It is also 400ml which can apparently last up to "200 uses". It usually retails for $11.99 at Priceline, although I got it on sale for $9.49.

On the back of the bottle:
Description:
Micellar Cleansing Water removes make-up, cleanses and soothes skin on the face, eyes and lips in one step without needing to rinse off.

Directions:
Wipe face, eyes and lips with a cotton pad soaked with Micellar Cleansing Water. No vigorous rubbing or rinsing required on a cotton pad.

Makeup that I tested on my face.
  • Maybeline Fit Me! Powder
  • Mac Sheertone Blush in Sincere
  • Nars Orgasm Blush
  • Rimmel Kate Moss 107 Lipstick
  • Holika Holika Luminous Silk BB Cream
  • Loreal Waterproof Telescopic Mascara
I decided to use the following products such as red lipstick and waterproof mascara too see if the product would actually come off, since these are usually the most stubborn bits.

Anyways, as you can see from pads being removed:

  • The face and lip pads did excellent in removing the makeup without vigorously scrubbing, it gave my skin a fresh and light feeling afterwards and didn't have any oily residue at all. It essentially felt like washing your face with water!
  • Although the mascara, it did not REMOVE at all. You can see the face makeup from the mascara pad but there are there little pieces of mascara residue. I even tried scrubbing and it just wouldn't remove as much.

But removing with this Cleanser it clearly did well in removing my waterproof mascara. But saying that usually most oil based makeup removers usually remove them pretty easily!
So the camera quality didn't do it's just in the face makeup shots.. I also didn't apply too heavily! But I should've used a darker foundation or something so you could see it easier.
Pros:
  • Fresh feeling afterwards when using the wipe, feels like your skin
  • No Scent, great for those with sensitive skin!
  • Removes face makeup and lip makeup really well!
  • No Residue left behind
  • Cheap
  • Makes skin feeling super soft and silky afterwards
  • Didn't break me out

Cons:
  • Doesn't remove waterproof mascara
  • This could be just my bottle, but cap is kinda not secure so sometimes when I pour the liquid onto the cotton pad and tilting it back up to close it, sometimes it leaks from the sides
Overall, I really like this product! For the price of $11.99 and being an amazing dupe to Bioderma, I totally recommend that all of you go try it! Grab it now while it's on sale too at Priceline.

Anyways i hope you liked this review, and if you know any other make up removers let me know. Until next time,

  1. Oooo, this is interesting, I want to try it out! I was wondering if your hands have to be dry prior to using it? I own a cleansing oil by Shu Uemura and you have to have dry hands before using it, which is kind of inconvenient plus it's so expensive. I am considering to buy the garnier one after reading your review~

    1. Hi Mimi! Nope, your hands can be dry or not dry! It's really up to you, but it doesn't really matter since when you soak the cotton pad (which is wet) and your fingers get wet from touching the soaked cotton pad anyway. Aw thank you, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do ^_^

  2. I should try this! Some makeup removers, especially wipes, will leave my skin with red marks.

    1. You totally should try it! Since there isn't a scent to it and is super gentle that hopefully it won't leave your skin with red marks :)
